NEW DELHI: Indian Premier League establishment Delhi Capitals on Saturday said that it has made a solicitation to the BCCI for the COVID-19 inoculation of its players in front of the money rich competition starting on April 9.

With its players set to enter the bio-secure air pocket for the IPL one week from now, a DC source revealed to PTI that the immunization may begin with the Indian players.

“We have addressed the BCCI which thus is in chats with the Union Health Ministry, particularly since the Olympic-bound competitors are/will get the immunization,” a DC source said.

“The unfamiliar players may not get approval… they have started discussions and for the Indian players to get going with,” he added.

The source said the DC players will enter the bio-secure air pocket on Tuesday.

“Thus, DC players whatever accessible will begin isolate from Tuesday. As of now, it will be seven days of hard isolate before the preparation begins in Mumbai.

He said the BCCI has not yet shared the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in regards to the wellbeing measures to be taken considering the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 cases have been on the ascent in the country with in excess of 40,000 new contaminations being added on Saturday.
